February is actually one of the classic winter sports months.
Actually.
Because things aren't so easy for skiers and snowboarders at the moment.
Munich – Partly well over ten degrees – and that throughout the entire weekend.
This is the current weather schedule for Bavaria.
At the start of the weekend in Bavaria it is even 15 degrees in the shade in some places.
Not good news for winter sports fans who have had to pursue their passion in most Bavarian ski areas in recent years, especially on artificial snow.
But: Where can you currently go skiing etc.?

lists all relevant snow depths in Bavaria.
This shows that many mountains are marked red, but many are also marked green, with enough ski lifts in operation.

The warm weather in February is unlikely to cause much enthusiasm among winter sports fans.
Nevertheless: On many mountains in Bavaria there is enough snow to race down the slopes.

Although the figures on the snow depths and the information on the open ski lifts come from Thursday morning, the overview still gives winter sports fans a good overview of what the situation is like in Bavaria - also with a view to the coming weekend.
So it looks like the large ski areas in particular are helping out, probably with artificial snow, to ensure that the slopes are white.
