The Ilkahöhe is undoubtedly one of the most famous hills in the Munich area and attracts hiking enthusiasts from near and far.
But even though it has already attracted many visitors, this one-hour hike to Ilkahöhe should not be missing from any excursion list.
The climb is easy, and thanks to the ideal connection to the S-Bahn, the starting point of the tour is easy to reach.

Easy tour to Ilkahöhe
During the short hike you only overcome a little more than 100 meters in altitude, which leaves enough time to enjoy the tour to the fullest.
The path is already marked behind the train station with a blue arrow to make orientation easier.
At the beginning the path leads along a picturesque stream, which further enhances the atmosphere of nature.

Great view after a short hike
Once at the top, hikers can look forward to a pleasant opportunity to stop at the Ilkahöhe forester's lodge (except on Wednesdays, when the forester's lodge is closed) or to visit the nearby St. Nicholas Church.
But the real highlight is the breathtaking panorama, which offers a distant view of the Alps and a deep view of Lake Starnberg.
If you still have time and energy left, you can even take a detour to Lake Deixlfurt.
On sunny weekend days, the Ilkahöhe can be very busy.
However, anyone who takes the short tour during the week will be surprised at how quiet and tranquil it can be at the highest elevation in the Five Lakes Region.
