In the video: the words of Rabbi Shai Tahan/PR

This coming Shabbat we will read in the synagogue Parshat Teruma, in which the Torah teaches us how to build the vessels of the Mishkan.

The vessels that are in the Holy of Holies in the Mishkan, these are the "cherubim" - figures in the shape of babies or some say in the shape of a man and a woman, they are made of pure gold, explains Rabbi Shai Tahan, head of the Sha'arei Ezra community and head of Beit Erzi HaLebanon.

According to him, the Torah says about those cherubs that they should be made in one piece, that is, as if they were one.

Rabbi Tahan explains that if you look, you realize that there is a deep meaning here, because the cherubim symbolize our connection with God, and when they look at each other, it is a sign that we are close to God.

And therefore, he explains, they should be made in one piece, because we and the Holy One, blessed be He, are one.

We are an integral part of it.

And our role in the world is to sanctify his name.

According to him, even when we sometimes feel far away - we are really close and connected.

Because we are inseparable from God.

And also that it is difficult for us, as in this time - the time of war - God is with us.
