Le Figaro Bordeaux
Struck in July by a mildew epidemic
“never seen before in the memory of winegrowers”
and burdened by difficult sales to the point of requiring a grubbing-up plan, Gironde winegrowers are suffering the crisis in Bordeaux.
They now benefit from an emergency fund, set up by the government, to deal with
“the cash flow difficulties generated by numerous hazards”
.
This emergency window, open Wednesday and which runs until March 11, should make it possible to collect requests for help to best assess needs.
Objective: to define
“a compensation scale which will be established by a cell bringing together the departmental directorate of territories and the sea (DDTM) and professional representatives”
, specifies the Gironde prefecture.
Two eligibility criteria
To be eligible for this emergency government aid, applicable to the year 2023, winegrowers will be able to justify themselves on two criteria.
On the one hand, by proving a harvest loss less than or equal to 20% of their production.
Or on the other hand, by presenting a loss of turnover or gross operating surplus (EBE) greater than or equal to 20%, which must be coupled with a request for reorganization of their bank debt.
