Some might think of a concept similar to that
of
Destination
In this program, candidates board a bus with opaque windows and have to guess where they are in Europe.
Same idea or almost on the side of the Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS).
On February 12, the Scandinavian airline launched an initiative: “Destination Unknown”, which offers its passengers the opportunity to fly to a destination kept secret by the operator.
And interest in the unknown seems to be overwhelming: a few minutes after reservations opened, more than 1,000 people had already registered.
A
“massive interest”
which the company welcomed in a press release.
“
I am excited about this innovative concept and I am convinced that, like me, many travelers are excited by the idea of an unknown destination,”
said Paul Verhagen, executive vice president and chief commercial officer at SAS.
The flight in question is scheduled to depart on April 5, 2024 from Copenhagen Airport, for a trip that will run until April 8.
“This extraordinary SAS experience promises to add extra excitement and adventure to travel
,” the airline boasts.
Reserved for loyalty program customers
But let some not be disappointed by their lack of responsiveness.
The initiative is only aimed at SAS EuroBonus members, in other words customers who have a loyalty account with the airline operator.
Additionally, tickets can only be “purchased” using points obtained through this same loyalty program.
Enough to limit the number of participants, while allowing the airline a nice publicity stunt.
