After launching Gemini as an Android app in some countries, such as the United States, Google could make its chatbot an assistant for earphones too.
Developers have in fact found traces of this integration within the Google app for smartphones, where a line of code suggests the future possibility of asking vocal questions to the AI, which at this point should replace the Google Assistant in the various products and services where it is present.
In the v15.6 beta version of Gemini for Android, the string "The Gemini mobile app is working to expand availability and make it accessible on headphones" was found.
The message identified by the 9to5google site appears to be the result of an attempt to use Gemini through earphones;
a possibility currently deactivated but present.
Error messages were also discovered in the app's code including "Too many requests in a short period of time. Please try again" and "The Gemini mobile app is receiving more traffic than usual and is temporarily unavailable.
Please try again later." Meanwhile, in the last few hours Samsung has launched an update for some earphone models, Buds2 Pro, Buds2 and Buds Fe, which introduces compatibility with Galaxy AI, the artificial intelligence making its debut on Galaxy S24 smartphones. We are talking about the support, via headphones, of Live Interpreter and Translation, two options currently exclusive to the Galaxy S24, with which to translate a phone call or an in-person conversion into two different languages in real time.
