The mayor of Gisors kept his promise in his crusade against the Ferme de Vaux, a vast campsite of cabins that he wishes to at least “bring back to standards”, if not make it disappear.

The tenants of the plots, some of whom have lived here for more than thirty years, have received in recent days the first summons before the Évreux court, with a view to their eviction.

An eviction notice set a deadline of November 18, the residents are now summoned to a court hearing on March 20 at 10 a.m.

United in an association, the latter, like the irreducible Gauls of Asterix, have not given up staying at the Ferme de Vaux “at all costs”, as the founding president Dominique Tanvet confirmed to us.

Originally from Argenteuil (Val-d'Oise), he arrived on the site in 2018, “thanks to a friend from whom I bought the chalet for 5,000 euros”.

“I fell in love with this slightly baroque site with all these constructions in a very personal architecture.

As time went on, I realized that there were many love stories for this setting on the part of the residents.

For modest people, it is a pied-à-terre, a second home.

This is why, he insists, we will persist until the end.

Dominique Tanvet denounces the conditions of the evictions and the allegations of Mayor José Cerqueira: “The town hall is well aware that we bought the goods on the plots.

The mayor, until 2019, was the de facto president of the former association.

In the office, there were five municipal councilors.

It was necessary to carry out a solvency investigation and pay the purchase bill before signing a rental contract for the plot at the town hall.

It was the entry ticket, the blank check to be accepted.

This is why it is not a campsite, but a housing estate.

Otherwise, there would be a reception with staff.

Dominique Tanvet, president of the Association of Friends of the Ferme de Vaux

“You should know,” continues the president of the association, “that families have purchased buildings for up to 20,000 euros and others have invested 50,000 euros to carry out development work.

The mayor is asking (today) to shave for free, it's impossible!

He who has received a million euros from rentals since 2019 and has never done the slightest work, even security.

» Questioned by us at the end of last year, Mayor José Cerqueira denied the role of the municipality in the transactions and claimed “not to be aware of the types of construction (carried out) during forty years of drift”.

“I tell them:

Don’t touch it, collect your personal belongings and we will take care of them in accordance with the legislation

,” he added.

The standoff became tense between the two parties despite meetings: “The mayor offered compensation to those who arrived after the control commission in June 2022, but without ever writing anything.

This is destabilization!

storm Dominique Tanvet.

Now the municipality is talking about firing everyone, cleaning up the site and, I think, installing mobile homes that it will be able to rent for 1000 euros per week instead of 80/90 euros per month per plot.

So, the mayor puts the pressure on.

People have already left, but there are still more than 150 of us who want to defend ourselves.

Despite an eviction notice sent on May 13, with a deadline of November 18, 2023, the “tenants” are still there.

The court summons received since February 13 are, according to Dominique Tanvet, “a pressure”.

“We don’t want to leave,” he insists.

We therefore filed an appeal with the Rouen administrative court on July 18, 2023 and a lawyer defends the association and that of the tenants individually.

In addition, as we have been squatters since November 18, we have opened an escrow bank account where all residents will pay their rent.

The money will then be available to the town hall, after the judge's decision.

We thus formalize our good faith,” announces the president of the Friends of La Ferme de Vaux.

Dominique Tanvet does not, however, close the door to possible mediation: “It is set to last months or even years of legal proceedings.

To get out of this thing, people must not be ridiculed and be respected.

The mayor can compensate everyone after an appraisal of the property by a real estate agent.

He can also recover all the vacated plots and renovate the site by involving the other residents and leaving us alone.

There are other solutions that we are willing to discuss, because we are neither imbeciles nor alcoholics, as they say.
