German Environmental Aid wanted to make money from a campaign for fossil fuels.

The CSU therefore sees purely economic interests in the lawsuit against Diesel.

Munich - German Environmental Aid (DUH) has offered a natural gas association to start a three-year lobbying campaign for fossil gas as a fuel in cars in return for a payment of 2.1 million euros.

This is reported by the Table.Media portal.

The DUH has confirmed the offer to the publisher.

"At the end of 2016, we sent a project outline 'Clean Air through Clean Drives' to Natural Gas Info, along with a list of the expected costs of this three-year project."

Diesel driving bans in Munich: German environmental aid wants to enforce a tightening ban in court

As is well known, Umwelthilfe is suing for compliance with nitrogen oxide levels in Munich.

The consequence of this lawsuit was the driving bans for Euronorm 4 diesel engines on and within the Middle Ring.

As reported, the driving bans did not have the desired effect.

A court date on March 14th will clarify whether further driving bans are necessary.

In any case, the CSU in the town hall sees cause for criticism.

Because: It turns out that the DUH was pursuing its own economic interests with its lawsuit, it says in an application.

In this, Mayor Dieter Reiter (SPD) is called upon to lobby the federal government to ensure that the non-profit status and the right of collective action of the DUH are examined.

Diesel driving ban in Munich: CSU parliamentary group deputy Hans Theiss speaks of double standards and rip-off associations

The offer to the natural gas association can neither be reconciled with the non-profit status nor with the right of action of a consumer protection association.

CSU parliamentary group deputy Hans Theiss: “Environmental Aid lives up to its reputation as an immoral rip-off organization.

This double standard is really unbearable: torturing citizens with a diesel driving ban, but behind their backs you want to earn millions for a fossil fuel advertising campaign!”
