The circumstances of this case being still very unclear, an investigation was quickly opened and entrusted to the Bouches-du-Rhône interdepartmental judicial police service (SIPJ) as well as to the Organized and Specialized Crime Division (DCOS).
This discovery is reminiscent of the case of the charred body found near Corot Park, in the 13th arrondissement of Marseille.
A passerby called the police after noticing the presence of a burned body.
