“We are not going to overtax SUV parking in Marseille,”
proclaims the PS deputy to the mayor of Marseille in charge of city and mobility policy
to Le
Figaro .
This is not at all being studied and we are not at all in this logic.”
This Wednesday, in a tweet, the president of the metropolis and the department Martine Vassal asked the various left-wing mayor of France's second city
“not to punish SUV owners by overtaxing parking in Marseille.”
“Let’s not get into the wrong fight
,” wrote Martine Vassal.
“A controversy about emptiness”
“But it’s a controversy about emptiness,”
annoys Audrey Gatian.
It is not because there is a
decision in Paris
that it impacts policies in Marseille.
There were never plans to study an SUV parking surcharge.”
Audrey Gatian was questioned on the subject several weeks ago by Benoît Payan's green deputy in charge of the ecological transition, Sébastien Barles, who had called in the columns of
La Provenc
e
for a debate on the subject within the majority.
Debate which seems well and truly closed according to the elected official.
