Michael Ende gets a permanent place in the Werdenfels Museum.

In what form it is not yet clear.

The great response to the exhibition “Go to Momo” is due to director Dr.

Constanze encouraged Werner to let the world-famous author stay in her house.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen

– A meeting place, a place to discover and listen, that’s what Dr.

Constanze Werner and Dr.

Floriana Seifert created.

It is also a place to let your imagination run wild.

Completely in the spirit of Michael Ende.

This was well received by the 6,000 visitors - to the delight of the two curators of the special exhibition “Go to Momo” in the Werdenfels Museum in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Due to the very good response, they have extended this until Sunday, February 18th.

Great interest in the special exhibition about Michael Ende

The enthusiasm could be felt during tours, but can also be read in the guest book.

Werner discovered many “touching contributions” here.

And the museum director agrees with Seifert, who is considered a proven end expert, that the exhibition marking the 50th anniversary of Momo's appearance has inspired many to take a closer look at the author.

“The issues he addresses still affect many today,” says Seifert.

Visitors notice this particularly on the second floor when they look at the media art installation for Momo.

Sitting or lying down, as a group of young people recently did during a tour.

Gene Aichner impressively dealt with the book and especially the time thieves especially for the special exhibition, accompanied by music by Xaver Reitsam.

“The students took in the whole thing in complete silence – even twice,” remembers Seifert.

A completely different perspective is offered from the bridge, which symbolizes the Never Lane.

In Ende's fairytale novel, this leads to Master Hora, the guardian of time and the flowers of the hour.

Visitors reach the exhibition rooms through the corridor with the specially made art installation “The Zettelkasten” by Michaela Johanne Gräper.

The concept worked.

“And appealed to all age groups,” emphasizes Werner.

They appealed to the youngest children with the reading corner, in which the rhinoceros Norbert Hakendick invites them to cuddle.

They have books read to each other, while older children can listen to one of two versions of Momo.

Other listening stations offer recordings of conversations with the writer, who also appears in films.

It is a comprehensive, absolutely worth seeing show that is dedicated to the Garmisch-Partenkirchen native and his extensive work, his father, the surrealist painter Edgar Ende, and other fantastic artists.

Reading corners and listening stations should remain in the Werdenfels Museum

When the museum director and Seifert think about the end of the exhibition, they become a bit wistful.

“We have created something that shows Michael Ende with due respect for his birthplace,” says Seifert.

Many visitors even thought that it was a permanent exhibition.

“That speaks for our work,” says Werner.

After next Sunday, the majority of the exhibits will be stored or returned to their owners.

Ende will still have a permanent place in the museum on historic Ludwigstrasse.

“The reading corner, possibly also the listening stations and films, should remain,” says Werner.

Not all details have been clarified yet.

Nor whether a picture of Edgar Ende can be seen permanently.

It is clear to her and Seifert that the topic will continue to concern them.

Also to show Ende in its diversity.

“He is not only a fairytale uncle, but also a political thought leader.”
