The Erding district is looking for locations for additional container spaces.

The municipality of Forstern is proposing an area behind the shooting center in Tading.

Forstern – If you want to get rid of paper, glass and old clothes in the community of Forstern, you only have two alternatives: the container site inpreisedorf and the recycling center on Hirschbachweg.

The district office believes that is not enough and has asked the municipality to look for further locations.

They found what they were looking for twice - but only the place in Tading was well received by the local council.

The problem that there are too few container spaces affects the entire Erdinger Land.

According to Claudia Fiebrandt-Kirmeyer, spokeswoman for the district office, an average of one place should be reserved for every 1,000 residents.

There are currently around 1,100 inhabitants – “and the trend is rising”.

That's why the communities were asked to create additional container spaces for glass, paper and old clothes - including Forstern.

There is only the public container site in Preisdorf and the recycling center during opening hours, so “there is a need for action here”.

In the local council, Mayor Rainer Streu (AWG) explained that the containers should be within walking distance if possible, but that certain distances from the development would also have to be maintained due to the noise.

According to the district office, 15 to 20 meters is sufficient in general residential areas.

Since citizens from Karlsdorf have already turned to the district authority with a request to set up containers in their district, the district office suggested part of the parking spaces on Ulmenweg for this purpose.

“But we need them for the children’s home staff,” said Streu.

An alternative would be the southwestern area of the Wendehammer - but the committee didn't like the place right next to the children's house at all.

“Most people go there by car,” said Anette Scharmatinat (Green Party), pointing out the dangers of traffic for children.

In addition, the containers are surrounded by wasps in the summer - "I don't find that particularly exciting so close to the children's house."

A place on the outskirts of town would be better, for example at the Eichengrün-Schützenheim.

The community has no reason to go there, “but you could ask whether there would be an area to lease for the district office,” said Sebastian Klinger (CSU).

He also cited the noise of such places and the fact that they quickly become littered: "That's not a hit next to a kindergarten." Wilhelm Ertl (AWG) also said: "That's not an image that belongs in residential development." And Georg Els Jr .

(AWG) feared that, in the worst case scenario, a child could be injured by broken glass.

“We definitely need a second or third location.

Preisdorf needs to be relieved, it's too busy and only a few stick to lunchtime," complained Franz-Josef Obermaier (AWG) and brought up a place in the commercial area.

But this is just as unsuitable as the area near the sports field, explained Streu.

A better alternative is the area behind the Edelweiß-Schützenheim in Tading, between the parking spaces on Pfarrer-Riedmaier-Straße.

Here you have a distance of 60 meters from the development, but the district office has to deal with whether you need land-use planning.

The committee was very comfortable with this location and wanted to suggest it.

However, several councils demanded that the containers be attractively fenced or enclosed with plants.

It was also agreed that Karldorf should not be completely ignored.

“We should make sure that citizens there also have an opportunity to dispose of waste,” said Gerhard Eicher (CSU).

And Streu also sees Karlsdorf as one of four locations for the community with around 3,800 residents in the future: at the recycling center in Forstern as well as in Preisdorf, Tading and Karlsdorf.
