Career information fair at the secondary school in Herrsching on February 29th

Herrsching

– The next career information fair, which the support association of the Herrsching secondary school is organizing in cooperation with the secondary school, is shaping up to be an event of superlatives – at least in view of the registration numbers.

More than 80 companies are taking part in the trade fair, which will take place on Thursday, February 29th, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the new triple gym on Jahnstrasse in Herrsching.

The Starnberg district and the region south of Munich are a business location with a large number of top companies and craft businesses with high quality standards.

The graduates of the Herrsching secondary school - there are more than 160 of them every year, the catchment area extends to Gilching - enjoy "an excellent reputation and are always happy to be hired as trainees," says the school support association's announcement about the career fair with pride.

“But we always have to realize that our students (now there are more than 1,000 of them) usually don’t know exactly how many different careers are available in the region.

The general opinion is still that really interesting jobs can only be found in big cities.

But we want to keep the children in the region.

That's why the support association of the Herrsching secondary school is once again organizing a career information fair (BiA) in cooperation with the secondary school." Preparations for this are in full swing.

The carnival holidays give you the opportunity to take another deep breath - and then it starts.

On February 29th, Herrschingen secondary school students and their parents, as well as students from the partner schools (middle schools and high schools), can find out first-hand and across all sectors about the wide range of training opportunities in the Starnberg district and the surrounding area at the stands.

The first contacts for internships can be made in the evening or even a training position can be secured.

This has often happened in the past.

The secondary schools are also represented with information stands.

And with a little delay, the large, new triple gymnasium equipped with state-of-the-art technology, which was completed in autumn 2023, is now available as a trade fair area.

Among the participating companies are large district companies such as Heine-Optotechnik from Gilching, the Scheitz dairy in Andechs, the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Oberpfaffenhofen and the Starnberg district office is also recruiting young talent, as is the Lebenshilfe association .

Large companies such as Lufthansa, the Bavarian Insurance Chamber and the Federal Police, the Goethe Institute and the Bundeswehr are also represented.
