25 women from Oberding founded a dance group in the strictest secrecy: the Moosgranaten.

They celebrated their premiere at the citizens' ball.

Oberding - They are a motley crew - and no longer very young: the moss grenades from Oberding.

The 25 women are the new discovery of the carnival season that has come to an end.

They had their first appearances as a dance group - at the Citizens' Ball and the Niederdinger Women's Carnival.

More are to follow next season.

The women met and trained in great secrecy for four months, as Rita Gerbl reports.

She is part of the four-person organizational team that got the idea rolling or onto the floor.

They discussed things via WhatsApp group and expanded the circle from train to train.

The goal: a show at the community's citizens' ball.

This was achieved under the direction of dance teacher Sabine Milchgiesser, who leads children's dancing at TuS Oberding.

Most women are 40 plus, the physical requirements were different.

Thanks to the support of Mayor Bernhard Mücke, the top-secret exercise evenings were able to take place in the old school gym and were disguised as pelvic floor exercises.

The premiere appearance at the Citizens' Ball was acclaimed.

The women wore white LED jackets that glowed at the touch of a button, black wigs and green umbrellas.

These went well with the songs “It's Raining Again” and “It's Raining Men,” two of five tracks on the interlude with a mini-lifting figure.

“We are particularly proud of the fact that nothing was leaked and the surprise was a success,” says Gerbl.
