The Middle East conflict and the ongoing war in Ukraine will be the topic of demonstrations at the security conference this week.

But also other conflicts in the world.

It is tradition that the Munich Security Conference is flanked by a large number of demonstrations.

This is no different with the 60th edition of Siko.

According to the district administration department, 19 actions have been registered for the weekend so far - 13 of which are directly related to the security meeting.

The focus is once again on the main train, which starts at Karlsplatz on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Motto of the demonstration: “Against the NATO war conference - negotiate instead of shooting, disarmament instead of rearming, against militarism, nationalism and racism.” 2000 participants are registered for the main demo, which will circle the Siko conference site Bayerischer Hof.

Mayor Krause speaks on Odeonsplatz

At the same time, there will be a protest march from Königsplatz on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., organized by the lateral thinkers from “Munich Stands Up”.

There will be a demonstration against war at Odeonsplatz on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

From 2 p.m. the focus will be on the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine.

Mayor Dominik Krause (Greens) will also take the floor.

The focus of the protests on Sunday is the renewed and bloody attacks on Israel on October 7th.

At 2 p.m., a broad alliance of democratic parties and civil society organizations such as “Munich is colorful” is calling for a solidarity demonstration with Israel.

The rally at Odeonsplatz “against terror, hatred and anti-Semitism” is taking place again.

It was launched after the attack by the terrorist organization Hamas.

Main organizer Sophie Griesbacher says that, especially on the Siko weekend, it is important to set an example and point out that there are still more than 100 Israeli hostages in the hands of Hamas. Around 1,000 participants are expected.
