The pedestrian who was killed in the horrific accident last night (Wednesday) in the center of Carmel is Dr. Eli (Alexandra) Tirosh, the 72-year-old children's dentist. George, one of the two dogs with whom she went for an evening walk in the neighborhood as usual, was also killed in the accident. She served in the Air Force, studied dentistry in Hadassah and worked as a children's dentist until her retirement about 10 years ago. Tirosh She was active in the Children at Risk Association in the North and in the Lawn Bowling Club in Haifa in addition to being an amateur photographer. "Her family and the community lost a great deal," say her acquaintances.



The police are investigating the circumstances of the fatal accident. The deceased's body was sent for a post-mortem at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine in Abu Kabir and has not yet been released for burial. The date of her funeral is not yet known.
