It was a long fight: an urgently needed school companion for an inclusion child at the elementary school on Guardinistrasse was finally found.
Rector Roswitha Stegbauer reported this to the Hadern district committee (BA).
Nevertheless, this long-fought success makes the real problem clear: “Finding a suitable school companion often takes several months,” says Stegbauer.
But the advertised half position for a school social worker has also been filled.

According to Stegbauer, one reason for the few school helpers could be that the replacement system is very inflexible.
However, it was not until December 2023 that the city of Munich decided that school helpers should receive higher compensation.
According to the rector, there are always a lack of interpreters, which are necessary for some conversations with parents, the youth welfare office or similar.
There are many different, sometimes rarer, languages at her school.
Stegbauer would like to have a pool of interpreters that can be easily accessed.
Networking with district social work could also be of great benefit in order to take care of the children's needs even more quickly and effectively.
Guardinischule is a certified sports school
But the principal was also able to deliver good news.
The Guardini primary school can call itself a “certified sports school”.
The school has a spacious schoolyard area with a large lawn where the children can let off steam.
There are opportunities for practicing skilled cycling in the area of the rest break yard.
During all breaks the children have the opportunity to play with various play equipment.
The school also attaches great importance to adhering to sports and swimming lessons.
In addition, there are changing working groups in the area of “sport and exercise”.
Preschool language support is also important
Preschool language support is also particularly important, according to the principal.
Children with special needs receive language support from teachers for a year before starting school.
In addition to using computers and the Internet, media education also involves practicing how to use books.
Tried-and-tested programs are used to promote language and reading.
