The Oberrother bakery Gürtner and Wallners Bioputen have received an award from the State Ministry.

Oberroth/Hebertshausen – Bavarian organic farms are setting a good example on the way to 30 percent organic by 2030.

Ten of them were honored as part of the “30 for 30” initiative of the Bavarian State Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Tourism, including two companies from the Dachau district, the Gürtner bakery from Oberroth and Wallners Bioputen GmbH & Coaus Hebertshausen.

The award ceremony took place at the world's leading trade fair for organic food, Biofach 2024.

Hubert Bittlmayer, head of the State Ministry, accepted the honor.

Since 2021, the competition has honored a total of 30 lighthouse projects in six rounds that advance organic regional nutrition in Bavaria with modern and innovative concepts.

All participating companies are users of the Bavarian organic seal, which, as a recognized seal of quality, is a guide for consumers when purchasing Bavarian organic products.

Gürtner organic bakery

“The Gürtner organic bakery has only worked with regional organic farmers for decades.

For me, this represents recognition of my decades-long commitment to producing healthy and regional organic baked goods and the active support of our farmers by exclusively processing regional organic products," said bakery owner Anton Gürtner.

Barbara Wallner sums up the holistic farm concept of her family business: “We were motivated to choose organic farm slaughter by the deep conviction that a closed, regional cycle is the key to sustainable, modern agriculture.

We not only wanted to bring about change, but also take responsibility for the future.

With our own feed, energy and heat production, the rearing of organic turkeys as well as the slaughtering and marketing on the farm, we rely on a holistic approach.”
