Interrupted interviews, farting plants and a stunned moderator: Barbara Schöneberger causes chaos as a plant expert on “Wir in Bayern”.
Munich – The ARD service show “We in Bavaria” delights its TV viewers every day with a wide range of topics: from sweet animal stories to delicious recipes and useful plant tips.
On Shrove Tuesday, plant expert Prof. Dr.
Susanne Renner a very special carnivorous plant that was supposed to bloom that day.
What moderator Dominik Pöll (52) doesn't know: Prof. Dr.
Susanne Renner is actually “Do you understand fun?” presenter Barbara Schöneberger (49).
As a crazy plant expert: Barbara Schöneberger causes chaos on “We in Bavaria”.
Andreas Modery, the plant expert from “We in Bavaria”, was very pleased to be able to present a “scientific sensation” to the audience live on the show.
He got support for this: Prof. Dr.
Susanne Renner (in reality Barbara Schöneberger), whom he invited as a very special expert on this sensational plant.
The carnivorous plant only blooms every 20 years and is looked after by Professor Renner like the apple of her own eye.
She even gave the plant a name.
“This is the Tekla,” says Susanne Renner proudly.
Moderator Dominik Pöll can't help but smile, but continues to listen to the botanist with interest.
When Andreas Modery then talks about the international garden fair, he gets a little louder with enthusiasm - and is immediately admonished by the professor.
Tekla is particularly sensitive today.
The reason: Susanne Renner calculated that she should blossom during the live broadcast.
“Is Tekla perhaps a mimosa, is that possible?” jokes Dominik Pöll.

He can only approach the plant very carefully and must wear gloves when near it.
When the botanist explains to him that Tekla not only eats flies, but also mice and rats, the moderator is astonished.
While everyone is eagerly waiting for Tekla's flowers, Andreas Modery introduces TV viewers to the new products for balconies and terraces.
But in the background you can always hear Susanne Renner, who speaks highly of Tekla.

But when the professor discovers the cannabis sugar plant on the table next to Tekla, the fun is over.
“That’s really bad,” said the botanist, horrified, and pushed her beloved plant away a little.
“That’s too risky for me.
I've had the Tekla for 40 years now, I've had it with me for 40 years.
“It would be a drama if something happened.”

In the next 40 minutes, Tekla prepares for her flowering, digests, farts, is pushed out into the fresh air by the botanist and of course brought back to the studio.
Professor Renner repeatedly disrupts the interviews of the other studio guests with his heckling.
Then the time has finally come: Tekla is about to blossom.
"Come closer.
Feel in.
With your ear,” she asks the moderator.
So Dominik Pöll puts his ear to the plant and then a studio announcement sounds: "Welcome to 'Do you understand fun?'".
"Are you serious.
How are you?” laughs the moderator.
“You persevered so well,” Barbara Schöneberger praises the stunned moderator.
“Have fun with the rest of your show.
I can only predict: Nothing will bloom.”
“We in Bavaria” presenter Dominik Pöll has to support himself at the table after the “Do you understand fun?” prank is broken up.

But Dominik Pöll is not the only celebrity who was heavily duped by Barbara Schöneberger's team.
Rhea Harder was also thoroughly tricked - perhaps a little too much?
Because suddenly the tears flow from the “Notruf Hafenkante” favorite.
