The renovation of the main axis of Vanves (Hauts-de-Seine), rue Marcheron, is causing some cyclists to complain.
The project, which has just started, aims to create wider sidewalks, “calm” traffic with the creation of chicanes and plant a few trees.
But no cycle path.
To the great dismay of a small group of city residents who filed an appeal for annulment before the administrative court of Cergy-Pontoise (Val-d'Oise).
The applicants denounce a project that does not comply with article L.228-2 of the Environmental Code.
“I cannot imagine that in 2024, we can put 2.1 million euros on the table without spending a euro on cyclists,” laments Laurent Delrieu, lawyer and committed citizen.
