The ministerial committee to fight the cost of living will meet on Monday, for the first time since the outbreak of the war.
The last meeting of the committee was in September.
This time it comes precisely after 14 major manufacturers have raised prices since the beginning of the year.
Price increase in the economy/image processing, Walla system!
Last week, Economy Minister Nir Barkat threatened the companies that raised prices, that if they did not cancel the move, the ministry would conduct "regulatory harassment" and public shaming by putting them on a blacklist that would be presented to the public.
The companies that received the request are Tnuva, Assem, Yachin, Salti Shamir, Vilipod, Beit Al-Hasita, Sogat, Shastowitz, Ahava and Strauss.
A number of these companies, as well as Unilever and Vysotsky, announced a price increase starting this month at a rate that reaches 20%.
"To the astonishment of all of us, under the auspices of the war, we are witnessing food price increases by large corporations, suppliers and retailers, and this in almost perfect "coordination", Barkat writes to the companies.
"It is a matter of spitting in the face of the consumer public, which is loyal to you and enriches your coffers and your pocket. During this period, you were expected, voluntarily, to get under the stretcher, bear the burden and help."
Following Barkat's announcement, Salty Shamir decided to cancel the price increase of its products.
The company's CEO Ami Guy informed the minister that the company informed the chains that the price increase was frozen until further notice.
