The Oscar-winning actor that fateful night for
King Richard
will star in the action thriller
Sugar Bandits
, which will become the most sought-after project at the next European Film Market.
The crime film will be based on the novel
Devils in Exile
by author Chuck Hogan.
AGC Studios is financing the film, which does not yet have a director and will be sold at this month's EFM in Berlin, where the market began today, Thursday, parallel to the Berlin Film Festival.

) wrote the screenplay for
Sugar Bandits
, adapting his own 2010 novel. The book centers on Boston-based Neal Maven, who returns from the Iraq War with few job prospects and teams up with other soldiers to rob local drug dealers.

was created more than a decade ago at Universal Pictures with Joe Carnahan in talks to direct, which fell through.

slapping Chris Rock
at the Oscars.
Smith's other upcoming projects include the fourth film in the
Bad Boys
franchise and a sequel to

After the famous slap at the Oscar ceremony, it was revealed that Pinkett-Smith had a romantic entanglement with singer August Alsina.

As stated by Brother Bilaal on the

podcast , the two actors were having sex on a couch when he found them.
Bilaal described the scene quite graphically, and mocked the size of Will Smith's assets.
Responding to the statements, a rep for Smith told
TMZ
that Bilaal's story was "completely fabricated and unequivocally false."
Additionally, another source reported that the actor is considering taking legal action against his former assistant for defamation.
Duane Martin, who was married to Tisha Campbell from 1996 to 2020, has not said anything about the situation.
