Tucker Carlson's interview with Vladimir Putin is causing a stir.
Now the Russian President comments on the conversation.
Moscow – Chancellor Olaf Scholz has a clear opinion: He described Russian President Vladimir Putin’s recently published interview with the ultra-right US talk show host Tucker Carlson as “ridiculous”.
And Putin himself was later surprised by how the conversation went - albeit for different reasons.

, Putin mocked Tucker Carlson for not asking him "hard questions" during their highly publicized meeting last week.
Speaking to Russian presenter Pavel Zarubin, the Russian president said: “To be honest, I thought he would behave aggressively and ask so-called sharp questions.
Not only was I prepared for this, I wanted it because it would have given me the opportunity to respond in the same way.”

Putin added that he “did not feel full satisfaction from this interview.”
In doing so, he dealt Carlson another blow after he had already exposed the former Fox News anchor during the conversation by ignoring almost all of his questions and barely allowing him to speak.

The more than two-hour interview with Carlson was the first Putin gave to an American journalist since the start of the Ukraine war.
Putin's disdain for his interlocutor was clearly noticeable during the broadcast.
He ignored Carlson several times or dismissed questions.
During the interview, the Russian leader mentioned Carlson's attempts to get a job with the CIA after graduating from Trinity College in Connecticut, which were unsuccessful.
“We should thank God that they didn’t let you in.
Although it is a serious organization, in my opinion,” Putin scoffed.
Putin mocks Carlson
In the conversation with Zarubin, Putin naturally drew a positive conclusion from the interview with Carlson.
Putin said it was gratifying that Western politicians followed his interview with the US journalist: “It's good that they are watching and listening to what I say.
If we cannot now enter into a direct dialogue for certain reasons related to them, we should be grateful to Mr. Carlson that we can do this through him as a mediator.”
Putin also had something to say about Carlson himself.
Putin believes that the arrest of the US journalist in the United States is theoretically possible: “From the point of view of Carlson himself it would be sad, I don't envy him, but it's his decision, he knew what he was getting at.
But from the point of view of making people around the world understand what a modern liberal democratic dictatorship is, which is vividly represented in today's US ruling class, it would probably be a good thing.
They would then show their true colors.”

Tucker Carlson: A lot of criticism from the USA too
The interview with Vladimir Putin caused quite a stir in the USA.
In the aftermath, there was mostly criticism of Carlson.
His former Fox News colleague, Chris Wallace, described Carlson and his attitude towards Putin as that of an “eager puppy.”
Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton went one step further.
She called Tucker Carlson a “useful idiot” for Putin.
“If you read what is said in Russian media, they make fun of him – he is like a puppy.
"Somehow I wouldn't be surprised if he showed up with a contract at a Russian network after being fired from so many networks in the United States," Clinton said in a statement.
