Munich - The number of attacks on the Greens is increasing - most recently the party had to cancel its political Ash Wednesday in Biberach, Swabia.
Even a window of a vehicle accompanying Agriculture Minister Cem Özdemir was smashed there.
The CSU also became the focus of criticism, as it recently appeared to have made the Greens one of its main opponents with harsh words.
For example, in the form of an SED comparison by party leader Markus Söder.
The former CSU Federal Minister and multiple Ash Wednesday speaker Andreas Scheuer rejects the allegations.

On the contrary: he welcomed “finally a clear stance against the ideological Greens, who are causing us dramatic difficulties.”
Everyone can “see the results,” said Scheuer, referring to the Greens’ policies in the traffic light coalition.
“And when you see the results, it is understandable that we are drawing a clear line.”

He cited “de-industrialization, bankruptcies, recession” as specific points of criticism.
“I would say that the Greens did everything right ideologically,” Scheuer complained sarcastically.

The recent attacks by protesters caused great concern among the Green Party.
In Biberach, for example, the legitimate space for democratic protest has been abandoned, warned Baden-Württemberg's Green Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann.
Party co-leader Ricarda Lang was reportedly chased by an angry crowd.
Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (SPD) strongly condemned the events.
The CSU is now united behind Söder.
