2024-02-16T07:11:51.823Z

Highlights: Diane Leyre will succeed Valérie Bègue, Amandine Petit, Laury Thilleman, Sylvie Tellier, Élodie Gossuin, Iris Mittenaere, Linda Hardy and Vaimalama Chaves. Miss France 2022 will also have as opponents the host Cristina Córdula and the buyer of “Concluded Deal” Caroline Margeridon. After Billy Crawford, Dita von Teese, Pamela Anderson and Miguel Ángel Muñoz, the American actor James Denton will take on the role of international personality conquering France.

The dance competition returns this Friday, February 16 on TF1 for a thirteenth edition, marked by the arrival of Mel Charlot and the return of Jean-Marc Généreux.

Viewers found the time terribly long.

In fact, they had to wait more than a year before returning to

“Dancing with the Stars”

.

Starting this Friday, twelve new personalities will take to the floor of the TF1 dance competition.

For its thirteenth edition, which will last ten weeks, the show presented by

Camille Combal

is entitled to some changes.

Who are the stars ?

“A casting that would make the platforms blush

,” according to Camille Combal.

Like every edition since 2011, “Dancing with the Stars” called on personalities from all walks of life.

“Stars who speak to the whole family, who speak to the youngest, to the youngest, to the viewers of TF1, those of other channels

,” assures Rémi Faure, director of streaming programs for the TF1 group.

So, this year, the singers

Cœur de Pirate

,

Black M

and

Natasha St-Pier

will face comedians

Inès Reg

and

Roman Doduik

.

Building on the success of “Star Academy”, the dance competition recruited the flamboyant singing teacher

Adeline Tonuitti

.

It's certainly for the same reasons that "Drag Race" Season 2 winner

Keiona

and content creator

Nico Capone

were recruited.

Since its adaptation in France, “Dancing with the Stars” welcomes a Miss France almost every season.

Diane Leyre

will succeed Valérie Bègue, Amandine Petit, Laury Thilleman, Sylvie Tellier, Élodie Gossuin, Iris Mittenaere, Linda Hardy and Vaimalama Chaves.

A real challenge for the former beauty queen.

“It brings together all my phobias: the stage, dancing, sexiness and proximity to a man.

I don't want to have regrets in my life, I want to surpass myself and I'm tired of carrying around complexes for years

,” she admits to us.

However, it was because of the cyberharassment she suffered after her participation in Miss Universe that Diane Leyre accepted the challenge.

“Doing “Dancing with the Stars” will allow me to tell young people that it is not because we are harassed, that we are told that we are not capable, that we are put down. that land that we cannot get up from.

No one can break dreams or ambition.

My ambition is to be able to dance and I'm going even if everyone tells me it's not possible

,” she adds, truly determined.

Miss France 2022 will also have as opponents the host

Cristina Córdula

and the buyer of “Concluded Deal”

Caroline Margeridon

.

Finally, after Billy Crawford, Dita von Teese, Pamela Anderson and Miguel Ángel Muñoz, the American actor

James Denton

(

Desperate Housewives

) will take on the role of international personality conquering France.

A new set in a smaller studio

Completed studio 217!

This year “Dancing with the Stars” is moving to studio 128, still in Aubervilliers (Seine-Saint-Denis).

The dance competition thus goes from a space of 2090 m2, able to accommodate 2000 people, to 1220m2, with a capacity of 507 spectators.

An economical choice that requires adjustments.

Due to the Covid pandemic, the judges were separated.

This year, the “desk” will make its return and will bring the jurors closer together, thereby encouraging discussion.

In previous seasons, the duos waited patiently in the wings while only the couple in danger sat in the hot seat.

For this season, everyone will be on set throughout the show.

Back to basics

“Perhaps we went too far with mechanics that were a little too complicated

,” admits Frédéric Pedraza.

Faced with this observation, the choice was made to return to the fundamentals with simplified mechanics.

“No more red buzzers, no more eliminated during the first two bonuses

,” announces the deputy director of TF1 Production.

“We want to give them the chance to go further and reveal themselves

,” he adds.

It must be believed that the channel heard criticism from viewers who expressed their dissatisfaction following the premature elimination of David Douillet during the first episode of season 12 of “Dancing with the Stars”.

A jury 50% French, 50% Quebecois

In 2020,

Jean-Marc Généreux

created a certain stir by announcing his departure from “Dance with the stars” to join France 2. After two numbers of “Spectacular” with disappointing audiences and a lightning stint in “Fort Boyard”, the dancer and Quebec choreographer finds his place on the jury of the dance competition.

A return that is not surprising.

In 2022, Jean-Marc Généreux was called in as reinforcements to compensate for the absence of

Chris Marques

suffering from Covid.

Jean-Marc Généreux will reunite with

Fauve Hautot

.

The dancer with four victories has already officiated in this position in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

For several seasons, TF1 has been testing new judges: Jean-Paul Gaultier, François Alu, Marie-Agnès Gillot and Bilal Hassani.

For this thirteenth season, the channel called on

Mel Charlot

.

Her name doesn't mean anything to you, but the Quebec dancer and choreographer has collaborated with Beyoncé, Cardi B, Kanye West, P. Diddy, Mariah Carey, Lizzo and Pharrell Williams, and worked for “Lip Sync Battle”, “So you think you can dance” and “The Masked Singer”.

Just that !

Who dances with whom?

Twelve dancers will have the very difficult task of teaching the twelve personalities to dance.

Thus,

Inès Vandamme

has been training hard for several weeks with Nico Capone.

For his fifth participation in the dance competition,

Jordan Mouillerac

will be with Cristina Cordula.

Candice Pascal

will be able to test her knowledge of English with James Denton.

At the end of January,

Adrien Caby

surprised Adeline Tonuitti by arriving at the castle of Dammarie-les-Lys.

Nicolas Archambault

will not be homesick since he will dance with Cœur de Pirate.

Twice in a duo with a Miss France,

Anthony Colette

will compete with Natasha St-Pier.

The very cheerful

Christophe Licata

was associated with the hilarious Inès Reg.

Maxime Dereymez

will certainly have a lot to do with Keiona's enthusiasm.

In 2021,

Elsa Bois

found love on the floor with Michou.

This year, the young woman will be with Black M.

Yann-Alrick Mortreuil

will have to give Diane Leyre confidence.

After a season of absence,

Christian Millette

returns and he will share a duet with Caroline Margeridon.

Finally,

Ana Riera

, who won the parallel competition “Who will dance with the stars?”, will team up with Roman Doduik.

Among the twelve dancers, only two can boast of having won “Dancing with the Stars” once: Maxime Demeymez in 2011 with Shy'm and Candice Pascal in 2017 with Agustín Galiana.
