With 32 missions, the Valley-Unterdarching-Lainder Volunteer Fire Department was deployed on average almost three times a month last year.

A review, a preview and honors were the topics at the general meeting.

Valley – Commander Michael Schima reported on 40 exercises in which the emergency services prepared for emergencies.

Several were held together with the other local fire departments.

The Valley-Unterdarching-Laindern fire department currently has an active force with 45 firefighters, including three women.

The average age is 34.9 years, according to the fire department.

It is pleasing that three groups successfully completed the performance badge for the group in the firefighting operation.

The respiratory protection force went on two missions in 2023.

17 training sessions were scheduled for the respiratory protection wearers, including four operational exercises and two sessions in the wood and gas fire container.

The fire department also said there was a lot to do socially last year.

For the first time, the armed forces celebrated the anniversary together with the Valley riflemen, the Unterdarchinger boys and the horticultural club.

A trip took us to Passau for two days.

Some dates for this year have already been set.

There is already a sheepshead race in the fire station in March.

In April the anniversary is on the calendar together with the shooting club and boys' club and in September there is an open day in the fire station.

Mayor Bernhard Schäfer used the meeting to thank the community.

The evening concluded with honors for deserving members.

Magnus Epp (40 years of active service), Andreas Keppeler and Andreas Brunner (25 years of active service) and Kasper Lindmair were honored for 70 years of membership in the club.
