The number of uses remains at a high level.
A new offer offers reason to be happy.
The BRK district association Weilheim-Schongau takes stock of the past year 2023. Continued high numbers of emergency services, strong growth in transport for the disabled and a steadily growing number of customers in the home emergency call area.
District manager Anke Ringel announced this in a press release.
The number of participants in first aid courses and emergency training has also increased significantly.
There has also been a growing trend in blood donations.
The Bavarian Red Cross - Weilheim-Schongau district association is the sole provider of the public rescue service in the district.
It operates seven rescue stations with a total of nine ambulances, five ambulances and three emergency medical vehicles.

Joy about the new community of the BRK Weilheim-Schongau
The reason for the volunteer members to be particularly happy is the newly founded community of welfare and social work, according to the district association.
It is intended to make volunteer work possible for all generations at a low threshold and without long training periods.
Formally founded in the district association in October 2023, around 80 volunteers are involved here.

Additional volunteers of all ages are being sought to expand these projects.

First aid before the emergency services arrive
The two new on-site help locations in the district also brought joy, says the BRK.
The organized “first aid” units provide qualified assistance until the emergency services arrive.
This is necessary if the emergency services cannot be with the patient in the shortest possible time due to longer journeys.
The BRK purchased three new vehicles for helpers on site in the district in 2023.
