Pop star Andy Borg once made his first TV appearance on the ORF talent show “The Big Chance”.

Now the show is returning to television.

Vienna – What would the pop world be without Andy Borg (63)?

The singer has been delighting fans with his music for many years.

Since 2018 he has been presenting the show “Schlager-Spaß mit Andy Borg” on SWR, which is a highlight for all Schlager fans.

The Austrian was discovered on the ORF talent show “The Big Chance”.

ORF1 is bringing well-known talent shows back into the program

And that is exactly what is now making a comeback: From March 8th, ORF1 will be showing “The Big Chance – Let's Sing and Dance”.

New episodes are available every Friday at 8:15 p.m.

In a statement, the broadcaster announced: “Austria's singers and dancers are in demand: no matter how old, whether it's a solo act, a duet or a group - everyone who can sing, dance or maybe even both.

Every genre and every style is available – whether classic, traditional or modern!”

This means that not only Schlager newcomers will compete in the casting show.

The winner will receive a prize of 50,000 euros.

The show is moderated by Fanny Stapf (33) and Andi Knoll (51).

The latter was already included in the new edition between 2011 and 2014.

It wasn't just Andy Borg who became known thanks to the ORF talent show

The musical talents have to prove themselves in front of a three-person jury.

This decides who makes it into the live shows.

The prominent jurors include model Barbara Meier (37), musical star Mark Seibert (44) and entertainer Katharina Straßer (40).

The pop stars are also represented: Pop singer Simone Stelzer (54) and folk music star Marc Pirchner (45) also take a seat in the jury chair.

Incidentally, Andy Borg is not the only prominent musician who was discovered in the traditional talent show.

The format was originally called “Show-Chance” and helped, among others, songwriter Peter Cornelius (73) and the pop duo Waterloo & Robinson to achieve their breakthrough.

The new edition of “The Big Chance” in 2011 once again made the former Austrian ESC winner Conchita Wurst (35) famous.

Recently Andy Borg even revealed his secret passion.
