Rewarding view over the Schliersee

Despite the current closure of the castle ruins due to renovation work, the climb promises a worthwhile reward in the form of a breathtaking panoramic view over Lake Schliersee and the surrounding mountains.

The starting point of the adventure trail is in Fischhausen on the southern bank of Lake Schliersee, where the path winds to the right near the Schnapperwirt up to the castle ruins.

If you still have energy left, you can continue following the path and hike via Ober- and Unterleiten to Schliersee.

You should plan around two hours for the almost two kilometer long route to the castle ruins, with an altitude difference of around 220 meters.

Arrival and further information

Traveling by public transport is convenient: take the BRB to Schliersee and then take bus 352 to Fischhausen.
