This may be the impetus for a positive development in this area of the Schliersee town center.

After years of back and forth, the building committee has now agreed to expand the former Schlecker store.

A breakthrough that raises hopes.

Schliersee – Ultimately, Wolfgang Schauer prevailed with his demand.

“Absorb everything and have a conversation,” the local council had demanded with regard to the structural enclosure that exists in the small pedestrian zone between Karl-Haiderstrasse and Leitnerstrasse.

Attentive observers now know that the demand mentioned must be a little older because Schauer is no longer a member of the local council.

The rate actually fell in December 2018. At that time, the building committee rejected an extension to the building, which was a Schleckermarkt until the chain went bankrupt.

And he did it again, somewhat angrily, in October of last year (we reported) - because the “homework” that the committee had given the owner had not been completed.

criticism

There were various criticisms of the application.

Among other things, the previous owner had carried out some unauthorized construction work.

This actually included closing the passage from the pedestrian zone to the so-called rider parking lot.

But as Mayor Franz Schnitzenbaumer (CSU) now explained in the committee, this measure was definitely approved.

It just wasn't included in the associated development plan.

The topic was back on the agenda because the owner had not remained idle since the rejection in the fall - and probably couldn't because the roof structure already has significant damage.

So there was a meeting with the planner and the district office - ultimately what Schauer had called for over five years ago.

The parties agreed that the garbage can shelter would be removed and the staircase would be covered - both on the rear side of the building.

The pitched roof should disappear.

The apparent desire to clear up the confusion has now also made the committee members more lenient.

They gave their blessing to the project.

The builder should submit any documents that are still missing.

More living space

The house is to be increased by one meter and additional living space is to be created.

This would require additional parking spaces, which the developer would like to mitigate by converting the restaurant area - which has also been empty for years - into a sales area.

If there is still a need for gastronomic use, we could talk about replacing the parking space.

The committee had actually already welcomed the increase itself because it would make the roof landscape on this corner quieter.

As Schnitzenbaumer added, the building should be moved away from Leitnerstrasse at a later date in the event of a general renovation or demolition.

Music of the future.

Hope for revival

Speaking of which: The fact that something is now happening after many years of vacancy and that it can be assumed that in the end there will be a tidy and attractive ensemble of buildings fuels Schnitzenbaumer's hope for future revitalization on this corner of the town center.

As is well known, Intersport Berauer would also like to expand its sales rooms.

The application passed the municipal committees without any major noise.
