Dubrovnik – The Croatian Adriatic coast has been one of the most popular summer holiday destinations for German tourists for years.
Beautiful beaches, crystal clear water and picturesque old towns.
The southernmost city in the country is particularly popular: Dubrovnik.
Ever since the coastal town was the filming location for the fictional capital “King's Landing” in “Game of Thrones,” tourists have been flooding the place in the warm months of the year.
Dubrovnik is now attracting more and more visitors, even in winter.
Tourist hotspot Dubrovnik: 1.4 million visitors per year
According to estimates, a total of around 1.4 million tourists flock to the city of 42,000 inhabitants every year.

In summer, holidaymakers literally squeeze through the picturesque streets of the old town and over the city walls.

But Dubrovnik is also becoming an increasingly popular travel destination during these months.

Dubrovnik in winter: Lower prices and special offers attract tourists
The sunny weather of the past few weeks and temperatures around 15 degrees have – by February standards – ensured a real rush to the “Pearl of the Adriatic”.
Tourists from the rest of Croatia in particular use the winter months to vacation in Dubrovnik.
“I have to admit that these are our favorite guests.
They have a lot of knowledge about our city,” a city guide told the Croatian television station
Nova TV

“Some of them come several times, especially on the weekends.”
In addition to the beautiful winter weather, lower hotel prices and special offers are currently attracting numerous tourists from abroad to Dubrovnik.

vacationers reported prices starting at 100 euros for a four-star hotel and apartments for 30 euros per night.
In the summer, many holidaymakers still complained about the high prices in Croatia.
A visit to the historic city walls of Dubrovnik, which costs up to 35 euros in summer, was sometimes even free in some winter weeks.

There were 30,700 overnight stays in the Croatian tourist hotspot - an increase of 17 percent compared to the previous year.
According to Draskovic, the only drawback for many vacationers is that many restaurants and shops are closed over the winter months.
Many operators would use the time in winter to carry out renovation work or go on holiday themselves, explained the head of the tourism association.
However, that will change by the end of March at the latest.
Because then the pre-season begins in Dubrovnik and with it the first big rush of tourists again.
