“If this is the truth, I would like Putin, his entire staff, his entire entourage, his entire government, his friends, to know that they will be punished for what they did to our country, to my family and to my husband.

They will be brought to justice and that day will come soon, declared, very moved, Yulia Navalnaïa from the podium of the Munich Security Conference.

“I wondered if I should stay here in front of you or if I should go back to my children and I wondered what Alexei would have done in my place and I am sure he would have stood here on this stage” , she confided, beginning her short statement, greeted by long applause from the participants in this conference which brings together each year the elite of world diplomacy.

Yulia Navalnaïa urged the international community to hold Vladimir Putin to account.

“I would like to appeal to the international community, to all the people of the world, to come together and fight against this evil, against this horrible regime that is raging today in Russia, and so that this regime and Vladimir Putin be held personally responsible for all the atrocities they have committed in our country over the past years,” she said.

In Munich, she met US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who offered her his condolences and affirmed that Russia was “responsible” for the death of the Russian opponent.

Alexei Navalny's mother, Lyudmila Navalnaya, said she did not want to "hear condolences".
