The German Weather Service (DWD) describes Friday's temperatures as "unusually mild" and does not expect winter to break out in Hesse in the coming days.

At the same time it will remain variable to very cloudy, with isolated showers and some drizzle.
According to the DWD, Sunday will initially be mostly cloudy and often free of precipitation.
In the afternoon, however, dense clouds and rain will arrive from the northwest.
The maximum values are 9 to 13 degrees, at high altitudes 6 degrees.

And the sun barely shows up on Monday either.
Instead, it will remain very cloudy at the start of the new week.
There will be light rain in some areas in the south, with light showers in places in the afternoon and evening.
The maximum temperature is between 9 and 12 degrees, at high altitudes around 4 degrees.
As qualified meteorologist Dominik Jung writes in a press release, February 2024 is well on its way to becoming the warmest February in more than 140 years.
The weather expert reports that the month currently has a deviation of 5 to 6 degrees.

“Imagine that July or August in Germany would be 5 or 6 degrees warmer than the long-term climate average.
“That would be life-threatening heat that would spread to us,” emphasizes the meteorologist.
Currently February 2024 is as warm as April or even May.

Although it will get a little colder towards the end of the month, daily maximums of 5 to 12 degrees “still have little to do with winter weather”.
Jung is certain that there will hardly be any permanent frost and a solid snow cover in Germany this February.
“The weather trends for the next 10 to 14 days are extremely unwintery, and the consensus among the weather models is very high.” Of course, there could also be a few cold days with snowfall in March or April, but the topic of midwinter is over.
The weather expert notes that nature is currently two to three weeks ahead of its time.
