With a ruling from the Court of Cassation issued yesterday, the confiscation of the 'Castello delle Cerimonie', also known as 'La Sonrisa', a large accommodation facility located in Sant'Antonio Abbate, in the Neapolitan area, which has become well known to the public, becomes enforceable as the 'location' of a well-known TV series broadcast on Real Time and dedicated to wedding celebrations and other anniversaries.

The Supreme Court, in addition to making the part of the sentence relating to confiscation enforceable, also established the statute of limitations for the crimes charged to the suspects.

The 'Sonrisa' legal case began in 2011: investigators contested a long series of building violations carried out, according to investigations, starting in 1979, over an area over 40 thousand square metres.

The confiscation concerns the properties and land on which the accommodation facility stands, which will be acquired in the real estate assets of the Municipality of Sant'Antonio Abate.

With the sentence of the court of Torre Annunziata (Naples), issued in 2016, Rita Greco, deceased wife of the "Boss of Ceremonies" Tobia Antonio Polese, and Agostino Polese, her brother, were sentenced to one year in prison (suspended sentence), who held the position of director of the company.

The first degree sentence was partially reformed by the Court of Appeal of Naples and yesterday the sentence became final with the ruling of the Supreme Court.
