Another daycare group will soon be ready to start in the Kochel community.

That's what Mayor Jens Müller said when asked by our newspaper.

Kochel am See - The matter has been going on for a long time and was initiated under Müller's predecessor Thomas Holz.

Holz announced in October 2023 that a solution was now emerging for those children from the Kochel municipality who can no longer be accepted in Benediktbeuern.

Holz had announced that rooms had been found and that the contract was “close to being signed”.

The Kochler Montessori support group was won as the operator of the crèche group.

Holz was confident that the new group could start on January 1, 2024.

Contract negotiations took longer

But nothing came of it.

As Jens Müller, Kochler's mayor since the end of January, said when asked, the parents were informed in mid-December that the appointment unfortunately could not be kept.

“The contract negotiations for the premises dragged on contrary to expectations,” said Müller.

But now the first contracts could be concluded with the owners.

As Müller reports, the group is accommodated in the former school building of the former St. Anna school group on Badstrasse.

The area now belongs to the Dominikus-Ringeisen-Werk.

The group will be accommodated on the middle floor.

“Nothing stands in the way of a start on March 1st,” says Müller.

Preparations in the rooms have begun.

The Montessori support association provides the staff.

What happens to the other rooms?

What to do with the other rooms in this building is currently being considered, Müller continued.

One difficulty when it comes to childcare is the outdoor space.

And what about crèche and kindergarten places in general in the community?

“We have a lot of children who will be moving to school, so there should be enough places,” says Müller.

“However, exact space requirements can only be estimated once registrations have been made in the facilities.”
