Sergei Lavrov contradicts his president and rejects current negotiations for peace in the Ukraine war.
According to Peskov, Putin is willing to negotiate.
Moscow – Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov contradicts Vladimir Putin’s statements.
Lavrov believes that a peace agreement with Ukraine would be impossible, he told the press on Wednesday (February 14).
Vladimir Putin, on the other hand, claimed in the infamous Tucker Carlson interview that aired a week ago that a peace deal was entirely possible.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed Putin's views in a statement to

Putin said “more than once that he is ready for negotiations.”
Lavrov sees agreement on Ukraine war as “impossible”
In Lavrov's statement on the verdicts, Russia would categorically reject any peace negotiations.
They would be “certainly impossible.”
He justified his statement by saying that Ukraine was the aggressor in the war.
“Considering that those who have declared war on us do not make serious proposals and are unwilling to respect our interests and the reality on the ground, agreement at the negotiating table will certainly be impossible.
Such a scenario is not foreseeable,” Lavrov told the Russian propaganda channel
