Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen – The microcensus, the largest annual household survey in Germany, is currently underway.
According to a statement from the Bavarian State Office for Statistics, one percent of the population will be asked about the economic and social situation on behalf of all residents of the state.

The results of the microcensus have developed into an important data source, writes the state office.
The surveys take place from January to December.
In Bavaria, around 120,000 people in around 60,000 households are surveyed - selected at random.
Volunteers record these households using the doorbell signs.
They can identify themselves as representatives of the state office using an ID card.

In order to ensure representative results, there is an obligation to provide information for the majority of questions.
In addition, households are surveyed up to four times within a maximum of five consecutive years.
In this way, changes can be tracked and a high quality of results can be achieved.
The selected households will be asked in writing by the state office to participate.
All information is subject to confidentiality and data protection.
In official statistics, the individual results are summarized into aggregated state and regional results.
