The work of OpenAI, the parent company of ChatGpt, continues in the development of new artificial intelligence models.

The latest is Sora, a platform that allows you to create videos by providing the chatbot with only textual information.

The AI in question has not yet been released to the public, not even in a trial version, also because OpenAI still has to understand how to protect it from possible problems due to the production of fake videos, passed off as real.

Not surprisingly, the organization said that politicians, educators and artists will be involved to "understand concerns and identify positive use cases for this new technology".

Help should come from the labels on which the C2pa consortium is working, which includes OpenAI but also the BBC and the New York Times.

The idea is to insert additional data that highlights the possible creation of a file by AI and to block its dissemination online if the shared rules are violated.

OpenAI itself raises further controversy, stating that "despite extensive research and testing, it is not possible to predict all the positive ways in which people will use our technology, nor how they will abuse it".

Just a few days ago, Google launched Lumiere, a similar AI platform which however creates videos starting from images uploaded by the user.

Sora is not the first model of its kind but it is the only one that can generate a file up to 60 seconds long.

Additionally, AI can make entire videos by simulating the presence of multiple cameras, which ensures that subjects remain the same even when they temporarily go out of view.

With metadata from the C2pa consortium, individual frames of each video will be examined to ensure adherence to the usage norm, before the footage is shown to browsers.
