" A dream.
» This Chinese New Year, our country has one more French person.
Yin Ho, 67, a pillar of the Asian district of the 13th arrondissement of Paris, at the head of the restaurant Li Ka Pho, avenue de Choisy, which displays its Peking ducks more proudly than ever in the front.
For forty years he and his wife Ping, 66, had hoped to one day obtain French nationality.
The good news arrived at the end of 2023 by post but Yin only really believed it when he went to collect his passport and identity card.
During all these years, which passed so quickly, he was refused twice… because he did not speak French.
“The third time, nationality was granted to him automatically, like those over 65 who have had children in France,” says Isabelle, his eldest daughter, who (still has always) done the translation.
