The Moscow regime was once accused of a poison attack against Alexei Navalny, who is now said to have died.

His rescue took place in Berlin.

Berlin – Moscow ruler Vladimir Putin's regime had him locked up, and now Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny is said to be dead.

There is currently no exact information about the cause of death.

Russian prison authorities confirmed his death on Friday (February 16).

Alexei Navalny is said to be dead: Berlin hospital once saved Kremlin critics

According to Russian sources, the 47-year-old regime opponent collapsed while walking in a Siberian penal colony on the same day after a long prison camp detention.

Paramedics tried in vain to save him.

The information cannot be independently verified.

Former Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) told

Bild

that Navalny had become a “victim of Russia’s repressive state power”.

“It is terrible that a courageous, fearless voice that stood up for his country was silenced using terrible methods,” she is quoted as saying.

Merkel knew the opposition politician.

When she was Chancellor, the Berlin Charité saved his life after a suspected poison attack.

Putin critic Alexei Navalny allegedly dead: poisoning in mid-summer 2020

His suspected poisoning raised many questions in mid-summer 2020.

At the center of the suspicions: an intelligence service run by Russian autocrat Putin.

This is what happened: Navalny collapsed unconscious on August 20, 2020 between 8:30 and 8:50 a.m. on a Russian domestic flight from Tomsk in Siberia to Moscow, which is why the plane had to make an emergency landing at Omsk Airport, also located in Siberia.

As the British

BBC

reported, Navalny's team from the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK) in Tomsk had previously carried out investigations in the run-up to regional elections in the Siberian Federal District.

Navalny was then put into an artificial coma in Omsk City Clinic No. 1, as the British broadcaster

BBC

news site also wrote.

It was said at the time that he had probably been “poisoned”.

After surviving the poison attack, Alexei Navalny gave an interview in Berlin on October 18, 2020.

Alexei Navalny: Guessing about the poisoning of Putin's opponents in Russia

On September 17, Navalny's team published a video from the hotel room in Tomsk on Instagram.

A German laboratory had detected traces of Novichok on one of his water bottles, it said.

Novichok is a powerful neurotoxin that was developed in the Soviet Union in the 1970s.

Navalny claimed in an interview with Der

Spiegel

on October 1, 2020 that “Putin is behind the crime.”

Anyone who knows the “Russian reality” knows that “FSB boss Alexander Bortnikov, SWR boss Sergei Naryshkin and also the GRU boss cannot make such a decision without Putin’s instructions.

They are subordinate to him,” Navalny said at the time about the alleged role of the Russian secret services in his poisoning.

On October 14, 2020 ,

The New York Times

reported that Navalny may have been given the nerve agent through the water and later also through tea at the airport in Tomsk.

At that time he had long been in Germany for treatment.

Alexei Navalny: Berlin Charité treated Kremlin critics after poisoning

Navalny's wife Julia contacted President Putin directly on August 21 so that her husband could be transferred to the Berlin Charité.

Putin apparently agreed.

Navalny was brought to Berlin from Siberia on a special plane on August 22, 2020, still in a coma.

It wasn't until September 7th that the doctors at the Charité brought him out of his artificial deep sleep.

At the beginning of September, a German Bundeswehr laboratory identified a nerve agent from the Novichok group as a toxin in the body of the Russian opposition figure.

At the request of the Charité University Hospital, a special Bundeswehr laboratory carried out a toxicological examination using samples from Alexei Navalny, Merkel's federal government said at the time: "This provided unequivocal evidence of a chemical nerve agent from the Novichok group."

Putin opponent: Navalny was sent to a prison camp after returning to Russia

Navalny still returned to Russia on January 17, 2021 and was arrested immediately after his arrival at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport.

For the flimsiest of reasons he was sentenced to 30 years in penal colonies.

Now Navalny is apparently dead. His wife Yulia Navalnaya said on Friday at the Munich Security Conference (Siko): “If it is true, I want Putin to be punished.”
