This year's eighth grade exams will also take place between the end of lessons and June 30th;
the dates are decided by the individual institutes.
Like last year, having taken the Invalsi tests is a requirement for admission to the exam.
The exam consists of three written tests (Italian, mathematics, languages) and an interview which aims to ascertain the knowledge acquired by the student also in civic education.
The final mark is in tenths and is determined by the mediation between the admission mark and the average of the marks attributed to the written tests and the interview.
Anyone who obtains a grade equal to or higher than six-tenths passes the exam.
The admission requirement for the exam is to have attended at least three quarters of the personalized annual number of hours, without prejudice to any justified exceptions approved by the teaching body;
not have incurred the disciplinary sanction of non-admission to the state exam;
have participated, by April, in the national tests in Italian, mathematics and English (listening test and reading test) organized by Invalsi.
The Invalsi tests for the eighth grade will take place in April.
