Six wind turbines in Forstenrieder Park have been applied for

2024-02-16T06:21:22.058Z

Highlights: Six wind turbines in Forstenrieder Park have been applied for. Each of the six turbines, each with a hub height of 166.6 meters and a rotor diameter of 160 meters, can generate around eleven million kilowatt hours of energy per year. If approval is granted quickly, the project operators could take part in the Federal Network Agency's tender this year. There will be online information about the project on February 29th (registration: www.energieagentur-ebe-m.de/forstenieder_park).

The communities of Neuried, Baierbrunn, Pullach and Schäftlarn submitted an application to the Munich district office on Thursday to build six wind turbines in Forstenrieder Park.

The test will take at least several months.

Neuried - In the morning, the mayors met in the Pullach town hall for the application documents to be signed by Pullach's mayor, Susanna Thousandfreund.

The application documents, which fill 30 file folders, were then brought to the Munich district office.

The numerous investigations in recent years have encouraged those involved to push the project forward, said Peter Beermann, managing director of the Beermann Energiesysteme planning office commissioned by the municipalities, to the Münchner Merkur.

“You never know what will happen in a procedure like this.

But we think the project is eligible for approval.”

As reported, the communities are planning to build three wind turbines on each side of the A 95 motorway.

They joined forces in the Forstenrieder Park Wind Energy Working Group.

This was followed by studies on, among other things, wind yield, species, nature and water protection.

“The biologists were out there for a year mapping species.

The wind was also measured there for a year,” explained Beermann.

“We have very precise data on wind.” Each of the six turbines, each with a hub height of 166.6 meters and a rotor diameter of 160 meters, can generate around eleven million kilowatt hours of energy per year.

Beermann estimates that it will take at least two years for the rotors to turn.

If approval is granted quickly, the project operators could take part in the Federal Network Agency's tender this year.

In the tendering process according to the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG), a decision is made on a fixed feed-in tariff guaranteed for 20 years.

“The height is known a year in advance,” says Beermann.

“If we knew that we would be put out to tender this year, it would already be clear that the project would be worthwhile.”

However, it is not yet clear whether the operators will rely on guaranteed remuneration according to the EEG, said Neuried's mayor Harald Zipfel on Thursday.

It could also be that “someone else makes us an attractive offer.”

It is conceivable that the municipal company “Innovative Energy for Pullach” (IEP) would become a buyer and market green electricity.

Two of the wind turbines will primarily provide electricity for the IEP's geothermal pumps.

The communities want to operate the wind turbines through a subsidiary together with several citizens' cooperatives.

There will be online information about the project on February 29th (registration: www.energieagentur-ebe-m.de/forstenrieder_park).

The number of participants is limited to 500.

There should also be events in the communities, said Zipfel.
