More and more Sparkasse branches are closing.

However, Sparkasse Köln-Bonn sells its closures much more positively.

What awaits customers.

Cologne – Many customers are likely to be upset about the closure of numerous Sparkasse branches.

In order to still supply customers on site, Sparkasse Köln-Bann now wants to use branch buses.

The Sparkasse Köln-Bonn is investing a “double-digit million sum” in the realignment of its branch network, said Ulrich Voigt, CEO of the Sparkasse Köln-Bonn.

After closure: Sparkasse Köln-Bonn offers mobile replacement for customers

The decision to close the branches and use buses was due to changing customer behavior, explains CEO Voigt to

Express

.

“This means we are mobilizing 22 locations.

We will stay on site, but differently than before.

Our branches get wheels there,” says Voigt.

The Sparkasse wants to continue to guarantee good service and a personal approach through the buses.

Good accessibility is also the aim of this change.

The reason for the branch closures was also the shortage of skilled workers.

According to Voigt, the branch buses can now be used more flexibly and efficiently.

Sparkasse buses in Cologne and Bonn – buses should also roll to Frankfurt

In Frankfurt, buses are also to be used after the closure of a Sparkasse branch in Ginnheim - initially as a pilot project.

This was less well received by Sparkasse Frankfurt, as the

reported.

“This concept comes from the post-war period, when there were still few stationary contact points available.

In contrast to today, the branches were an absolute prerequisite for banking transactions of any kind,” quoted
