Strengthening local businesses: This is the aim of the round table to which the municipality of Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn, the “Work and Economy” working group and the local trade community recently invited retailers and restaurateurs.
Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn
– However, the response to the first round table was sobering: only a little more than 15 traders took part in the meeting in the town hall.
Nevertheless, the format should be continued.
The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 16th.
Community activities and events
Moderated by working group spokesman Rolf Gaertner and the chairman of the trade association, Natalie Grünwald, the exchange discussed, among other things, cooperation between the trade and the community, current challenges caused by inflation and people's changing shopping habits, as well as ideas for community activities.
In principle, the participants agreed that an attractive townscape and a lively industry benefit each other.
In order to get more customers into the shops or guests into the bars, attractive ideas are needed, for example events such as fashion shows or readings.
Make stores more attractive
The appearance on Rosenheimer Strasse was also discussed, which some people described as “dreary”.
Gaertner, for example, advocates making commercial real estate more uniform and attractive.
Some of those present renewed their criticism of the local council's decision to allow the D11 long-distance cycle path to run over Rosenheimer Straße.
The opponents argue that the bicycle protection strips that are to be installed on the road would result in the loss of some parking spaces for potential customers.
Flyer and online platform
It was agreed that more advertising was needed for the variety of offerings available in the community.
Specifically, the participants agreed to publish a flyer with events from retailers and restaurateurs at more or less regular intervals.
The municipality will support this as part of economic development, according to the town hall.
Mayor Mindy Konwitschny (SPD) also suggested creating a digital platform on the municipality's homepage, which could be used, among other things, for job advertisements.

Dealers have to take action themselves
“From opening times to facade design and from individual service ideas to joint advertising campaigns: a wide range of topics were discussed at the round table,” was the conclusion of economic development officer Uwe Zwick, who thanked all participants for the exchange.
Gaertner, in turn, warns local businesses not to rely too much on the community's support.
The climate protection community of Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn is primarily driving the energy transition.
Ultimately, business owners have to take action themselves in order to be successful.
