In Saxony-Anhalt, Verdi is calling for a one-day strike on public transport on Monday (February 19).

In “the second round of negotiations between the United Services Union ver.di and the Municipal Employers’ Association (KAV) of Saxony-Anhalt on February 15, 2024, no rapprochement could be achieved,” the union said in a press release on the background to the strike.

In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the warning strikes are scheduled to begin on Wednesday (February 21) at 3 a.m. and last until Thursday at 11:59 p.m.

“If the negotiations result in an acceptable and negotiable offer, the second warning strike day could be suspended,” said a press release.

According to Verdi, the following companies are affected: VLP (Verkehrsbetriebe Ludwigslust Parchim), Nahbus (Nordwestmecklenburg GmbH), RSAG Rostock, Rebus (Regionalbus Rostock), VBG (Verkehrsbetrieb Greifswald GmbH).

The discussions are about the sectoral collective agreement for local transport companies (TV-N Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania) between the municipal employers' association and the Verdi union.

Verdi's core demands for the general collective agreement include, among other things, seven days more vacation, limiting the length of shifts to a maximum of ten hours, minimum rest periods of twelve hours and Saturday surcharges of 30 percent for the whole day.
