Manager of the Ville-d'Avray - Chaville conservatory, the Grand Paris Seine Ouest territory (GPSO) has launched the rehabilitation and expansion project of the Ville-d'Avray branch.

Located on the site of the Château du Baron Thierry – more commonly known as the Château de Ville-d'Avray – the facility has welcomed students from the music school since the 1970s.

“The castle and its estate were bought in 1969 by the municipality to install the conservatory, which came under territorial management in the early 2000s, before the two conservatories were merged with a common management in 2018-2019” , recalls Élisabeth Franck de Préaumont, deputy mayor in charge of heritage, town planning and landscapes.
