They asked two bricklayers working on the block for help, who quickly

helped them and they returned to their tasks.

The couple responded that they had already solved the problem.

The man walked away, picked up the backpack that he had left on the sidewalk and approached the retirees again, who were loading the trunk of the car.

Then, the criminal surprised the victims.

He struggled with the woman, threw them both to the ground and got into the car.

The bricklayers tried to help them and prevent the robbery.

They managed to open the driver's door.

But the criminal put the car in reverse,

ran over the couple, left them lying in the street

and quickly escaped.

The workers provided first assistance to the retirees until the emergency teams arrived.
