INTERVIEW - The 22-year-old singer of Swedish origin joined Vianney's team during the blind auditions for season 13 of the TF1 singing competition.

In

“The Voice”

, the red armchairs can turn around from the first notes in the first seconds.

They may also never move.

A unique stage of the singing competition produced by ITV Studios France for TF1, the blind auditions confront coaches on the one hand with the sole assessment of their eardrums with, on the other hand, artists who give everything to convince.

- What did you feel when the three coaches' chairs turned around?

Victory SOLVEIG.

-

At the time, I was already in the state of mind where “The Voice” was going to end for me.

I imagined going to my family and telling them it was over.

It took me a while to realize what was happening because I thought my song was over and everyone was turning around to just talk to me.

I saw the audience standing and enthusiastic, I didn't understand.

It’s been an emotional roller coaster.

Vianney and Mika were honest in saying that they didn't completely believe in you, what did you think of their assessments?

This may seem difficult to hear from people you admire.

But I liked that they told me in complete transparency that I still had work because I was aware of it.

It didn't demoralize me, on the contrary.

They made me want to work even harder to progress.

I needed to hear that to reenergize me.

Why did you choose to join the Vianney team?

This may seem paradoxical because he was hard on me.

But I was looking for a coach capable of setting me a real challenge and who would push me to demonstrate that I am capable of doing much better.

It was a personal challenge to go to the one who had “manhandled” me the most in his assessments.

“I had to participate in “The Voice” as a trio with two other girls”

Victory Solveig

How did you find yourself in this edition of “The Voice”?

I was part of the Dalida Institute last year, the singing school of Bruno Berberes (casting director of “The Voice, editor's note).

He asked me to audition at a time when I didn't know if I was really ready to take on such a challenge.

Initially, I was supposed to participate with two friends with whom I sing in a trio (the group Twenty One Music, with Léa Giulian and Fanny Mandrea) but one of us was taken by Disney in the musical comedy

Frozen

.

So I went there alone.

What did you expect from your participation in “The Voice”?

It was a personal challenge, to see if I can do it.

I was always afraid to come out of my room and sing in public.

I was afraid for a long time to post videos of my performances on Instagram.

I had to take matters into my own hands if I wanted to make singing my profession.

Broadcasting can bring me opportunities and give me additional strength.

What are your artistic projects?

I'm finishing my business studies in Montreal in May and at the same time I'm working on my first EP.

The goal is to be able to come and settle in Paris and present the models of my songs to labels in the hope of being signed.

““Star Academy” is a show that is much more intimate”

Several participants from

“Star Academy”

and “The Voice” come from the

Dalida Institute

, what can you tell us about this school?

It's the voice school, we receive singing lessons there obviously but not only that.

We also have courses in MAO (computer-assisted music), studio recording, English, law to master contractual aspects... Everything you need to be an artist and be able to develop as best as possible possible.

In one year, we are trained by professionals and we have real opportunities for the future.

Could you have participated in a music program like “Star Academy”?

It turns out that I also took part in the castings for “Star Academy” and was up to the very last stage of the auditions at the TF1 headquarters in Boulogne-Billancourt.

There were already Marie-Maud and Djébril who came from the Dalida Institute and they weren't going to put the whole school on the air either!

(Laughs.) Even though it's a great experience that offers great visibility, I don't know if I would have liked to go because it's a show that goes much more intimate.
