The Rabenwirt tenant Sibylla Abenteuer redesigned the Trutzburg ground floor - without the permission of the municipality.

Pullach – The Rabenwirt is a traditional restaurant in Pullach that occupies half of the church square and where the Schwabing bohemians liked to come together to celebrate Carnival.

Now landlady Sibylla Adventure, who has leased the huge complex for 23 years, has opened up additional space for gastronomic use.

And on the ground floor of the Trutzburg, which adjoins the terrace to the north and was once built to block the view of the Isar Valley from the Bürgerbräuterrassen, the “Blue Hall” has been prepared.

Concerts have been taking place there regularly since last June, and an exhibition has already opened there.

The Pullach committee called for more parking spaces

Although, you can say it straight away, the people of Pullach may be happy about another location for culture - the local council wasn't so enthusiastic at first.

And the ambitious restaurateur, who sees the Rabenwirt less as the village pub that it always was and more as a restaurant, did not approve the application to convert the Trutzburg ground floor.

Which ultimately had no effect because the higher authority - the district office - approved Adventure's plans anyway and the lawsuit that the community then filed against the district office or its building authority has no suspensive effect.

The tenant could simply continue what she had started - without creating additional parking spaces, as requested by the Pullach committee.

That was exactly what the local council criticized.

It's not that there isn't enough parking space.

“We also built her a golden bridge,” reports Mayor Susanna Thousandfreund (Greens), “and offered that she could replace parking spaces.”

But Adventure didn't want to go into that.

From improv opera to private parties

In the future, 25 to 30 events will take place on the new stage in the “Blue Hall” of the Rabenwirt.

Chiara and Sibylla Adventure are concentrating on concerts for the time being, although there was also a reading of Thoma's “Holy Night” before Christmas.

The focus will be on song recitals.

The dates until May: An improv opera “La Traviata” is announced on February 24th, five days later, on February 29th, an evening with Tim Allhof, who combines jazz and classical music.

This will be followed by concerts with the piano entertainer Charlie Glass (March 9th) and the Ensemble Vodeon (April 6th), and two recitals have also been announced on March 17th and May 4th.

Tickets cost between 25 and 35 euros and can be purchased via the Rabenwirt website or from München-Ticket.

The “Blue Hall” can also be booked for private parties.

She, in turn, says at a site visit, has worked hard to prepare the previously commercially used “Blue Hall” so that it does justice to its spectacular location directly on the slopes of the Isar.

She put a quarter of a million euros into the renovation, which, she says almost cheerfully, she probably won't be able to recoup.

“I spent 3,000 euros on the sockets alone.” At the same time, she built a stage under the dome-shaped ceiling area.

In June she was able to inaugurate the “Blue Hall” and her experience since then: “When the lights are dimmed, the salon is so beautiful.”

Owner excited about new use

The visitors also thought so, “the response was very good”.

Eight concerts have taken place since then, and even though hardly anyone from the local council was there, representatives of the owner family still found their way to the Isar Valley - and, says Abenteuer, were enthusiastic about the development that the Trutzburg has taken.

170 square meters, 130 seats, a stage, equipped with an impressive grand piano from 1942: the “Blue Hall” in the Rabenwirt is a new event space for culture in Pullach.

Meanwhile, Sibylla Adventure has the program curated by her daughter Chiara, who once studied singing and is apparently still well connected in the scene.

The focus, the two say, should be on song recitals; the highlight so far has been an event with Enrico de Paruta.

But jazz formats and an improv opera have also been announced until May, and in general, Chiara Adventure explains: “I say: never say never,” which means that under certain circumstances there will also be theater on the black-lined stage in the “Blue Hall.” could go.

There is space for 130 people in the premises.

Mother Sibylla Adventure says about her new space program: “We dared to do something that no one would do.”

It will be interesting to see how the lawsuit is decided.

The fact that the local council did not want to further accommodate the landlady may also have something to do with the fact that Sibylla Adventure has not always been cooperative in recent years.

When large celebrations take place at the church square, their toilets are off-limits to visitors, even if care is taken to ensure that they are clean afterwards.
