– The community of Aying has not yet received any reports of wolf sightings.

In the wake of the suspicion of a wolf attack in Großhelferdorf, the Munich Merkur asked the town hall.

So far, no people have come forward who suspected or were sure that they had seen a wolf, said Second Mayor Karin Lechner.

Waiting for the DNA comparison

Andrea Rudelt, who works as a hunter in the Großhelferdorf area, has not yet spotted any wolves.

It came to this on Friday morning when farmer Michael Riesenberger found two sheep dead in the pasture in Großhelferdorf.

“Until the DNA comparison you have no certainty that it was a wolf,” says Rudelt.

But there is a lot of evidence of a wolf tear.

An expert estimated the probability at 75 to 80 percent, she reports.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Munich district newsletter.)

Throat bites, but no animal eaten

Rudelt explains that the animal attacked five sheep with throat bites but did not eat any of them by saying that it was probably disturbed.

“Maybe there was a noise.” The attack was only 15 meters away from the house.

“A wolf is very shy,” he usually avoids people.

“A normal wolf would run away immediately.” Anyone traveling with a dog might be more worried: “The encounter between dog and wolf is more critical because the wolf sees competition in the dog.” Basically, Rudelt points out: “You have to “Be aware that these animals are living in Germany again.”
